Our position

News24x7 displays, for each story: the headline, an extract capped at 300 characters, a small thumbnail, the publisher's name, and a link to the publisher's own page. We do not store or display full article text. Every headline links out to the original.

About the thumbnails. Where a publisher's feed supplies a picture, or their article page carries an og:image tag, we fetch that image once, resize it to a 400- or 800-pixel-wide preview and serve the small copy from our own server. We do not hot-link, so no reader traffic is charged to a publisher's bandwidth. We keep no full-resolution copy, every thumbnail is credited to the publisher, and clicking it opens the publisher's own page. Any publisher can switch thumbnails off for their feed on request — see below.

We believe this is normal, permitted use of a public syndication feed. We also believe no publisher should have to argue about it — so the removal process below is deliberately simple and fast.

If you are a publisher and want changes

Email info@news24x7.co.za with Takedown or Publisher in the subject line and tell us which of the following you want:

1. Headline-only — we keep the headline and link, and stop showing any extract.

2. No thumbnails — we keep the headline and extract, and stop using your pictures entirely.

3. Full removal — we remove your feed and delete every stored item and cached thumbnail from it.

4. Attribution change — a different display name, logo or link target.

5. Removal of one specific item.

Include the feed address or the page addresses concerned, and enough detail for us to confirm you represent the publisher.

What happens next

We acknowledge within 24 hours and action the request within 48 hours. Full removals are permanent unless you ask us to reinstate. We do not require a formal legal notice; a plain email is enough.

Material labelled "News24x7 original" is written by us. If you believe it infringes your copyright, email the same address with the page address and a description of the work concerned.
